Busy as a Bee
Whew! It's been a busy weekend with lots of sight, sounds and country jobs. Saturday my husband and I went blackberry picking, while still a little early here on the mountain, we did end up getting enough to make nine little jars of jelly. While we were riding around on all those Virginia country gravel roads, I spotted three trees loaded with some type of berry. Whoo! Whoo-whoo-whoo! Whoo! Whoo! I was so excited, I knew this was an owl but what type? I researched this morning in my "Birds of North America" book and found that it was a Great Horned Owl, the most widespread owl in North America!

I love living in the country with all of the sights, smells and sounds!
